First of all you will need:

  • A load of bin bags
  • A load of multi coloured files
  • A renewed determination to succeed!

Ready…

1 Get rid of clutter … have a good throw out

2 Sort out your remaining paper.

  • Filing
  • Reading, or
  • Action?

3 Review your filing system

  • Dead/Active
  • Project/Routine

4 Review your desk

5 Keep the top of the desk completely empty

  • Justify everything on the top
  • Justify everything in the drawers

except for what you are currently working on

6 Put outstanding tasks on a TO-DO list

or in your diary or ‘worry book’

7 Try to handle papers only once

8 Use any stationery equipment, or

technology to rid yourself of paper.

9 Develop a hatred of paper. Get rid of it!!
